unhinged

everyone comes unhinged in their own way

I’m not a praying man
But I prayed every day that by now
your compassion for the unhinged would win the day

may a charitable cackle of goodwill break forth
free and easy from your rosy cheeks
to signal your faith restored
my lost friend found

I thought I heard it
but I fear it escaped against your will

Till then I have lost you
it remains night
and I continue to unhinge
